DIHQA geared up for 23rd edition 90 participants confirmed
Dubai – The organising committee of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) is geared up for the 23rd edition of its global competition to run on Ramadan 2 – 14, 1440.
H.E Ibrahim Mohamed Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Chairman of organising committee – DIHQA, said all the award units area ready for the contest.
“The Award runs a big number of competitions all the year round and that needs much effort to retain its good reputation and high position,” he said, paying tributes to all teams and units.
Bu Melha then hailed the endless support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is closely monitoring and supporting all the award activities, programs and branches, and is always instructing full support to it.”
Bu Melha has also extended his sincere appreciation to all the sponsors of the award, departments, as well as private and public entities.
“The 23rd edition of the award is to be held at the auditorium of the Dubai Chamber and Commerce as of Ramadan 2, at 10pm every night after the Taraweeh prayers.”
The competitions unit has prepared more than 500 questions, he disclosed. “It has also developed the arbitration and assessment software of the international competition.”
Over 90 countries and foreign communities around the globe have so far affirmed their participation in this year competition, he announced. “The number is expected to exceed 100 participants in the coming days.”
The organising committee has also selected the competent members of the arbitration committee, he pointed out.
“These include Sheikh Dr. Abdul Karim Ibrahim Saleh, Egypt, Sheikh Dr. Amin Idris Flattah, Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Dr. Salem Mohammed Al-Dubi, UAE, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Hadi Laqab, Algeria, Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Kashidan, Libya, Sheikh Dr. Hassan Gunsora, Burkina Faso.”
Dr Saeed Hareb, Deputy Chairman, DIHQA, said the award has seen a quantum leap over the last 22 years. “The award has become a leading hub for Quran memorisers all over the world.”
The PR Unit has earlier got ready for the global competition. “All the teams concerned have booked the hotel rooms for the participants and their assistants, arbitrators and scholars.”
Other teams have been assigned to take care of all the sites involved in the global competition. “These span participants’ accommodation, airport, competition hall, and transport,” he said.
“The award trophies and certificates of appreciation have been prepared as well for the top winners and Islamic personality of the year who are all to be honoured in a glittering concluding ceremony.”
The media unit of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award is also ready for the 23rd edition of the holy Quran global competition.
“All units and panels of the award are more than ready to best welcome the guests and extensively cover the activities of the international competition and lectures program.”
Bu Melha paid tributes to the tireless effort of the media unit and their passion to do their job as perfect as possible. “The media unit has always been very professional in covering the award activities.”
The media unit is in direct and incessant contact with all mass media. “We cover all the award contests, activities and programs all the yearlong, on top of which is the international holy Quran competition.”
The media unit has already assigned the tasks of each and every team under it, he added. “We have issued all the media publications of the competition as well as the annual record of the 22nd edition of the award.”
These are apart from the award advertisements to be posted on satellite channels, newspapers, websites and social media locally and across the globe, he added.
“We have also entered into an agreement with the Dubai Media Inc. to telecast the award competition and lectures as of the first day of the holy month of Ramadan,” he said. “The media centre has also been prepared and provided with all the equipment needed.”
The financial & administrative unit of the Award is all set for the 23rd edition of the holy Quran global competition.
“Contestants from 90 Islamic countries and foreign communities around the world have so far affirmed their participation in the popular global event that will shortly shine over the UAE.”
The Award organising committee has actually started preparing for the 23rd edition since the holy month of Ramadan last year. “This is in line with the organising committee’s plan adopted to streamline the work of all units and teams concerned.”
All units have been directed to start and finish their programs and plans early enough before the advent of the award activities, he explained.
“We have invited 145 countries and Islamic communities in foreign countries for participation in the 23rd edition of the award, and we have so far received confirmation from 90 contestants.”
The financial and administrative unit has also invited bidders for purchasing all the requirements of the award, he stated. “We have further contacted the annual sponsors of the award to support its activities.”
Soon, the unit, which cooperates with all units of the award, will prepare the list of contestants, lecturers, and guests to prepare their entry permits and air tickets needed, he elaborated.
“The unit is also to take care of logistic support for other units and secure the software programs needed for the award arbitration, scores-taking, as well as the gifts to be presented to the winners, lecturers, arbitrators and volunteers.”
Bu Melha said the organising committee is to soon announce the winner of the Islamic personality of the year to be honoured in the concluding ceremony scheduled on Ramadan 14.
